Entry and Exit Protocol

 

As opposed to last year, no proof of vaccination or negative test result will be required to gain entry into the halls.

 

Wearing a mask inside the halls will be optional.

However, we recommend that at-risk persons wear a mask and act with appropriate caution.

 

Security Inspection

All visitors and their belongings are subject to a thorough inspection before entering the show premises. Visitors must comply with requests and instructions from the onsite security staff.

 

Bag Policy

Only one bag per person is allowed. Smaller bags can be taken into the halls but will be subject to inspection. Backpacks, suitcases and trolleys of any size are not allowed.

 

Coat & Bag Check

Coat checks are free of charge. Art Basel is not liable for stolen items and/or any items deposited in the coat check areas.

 

 

Visitor Photography Policy

Personal / non-professional use photography is permitted, only if conducted without disruption to the galleries or visitors, and with the safety of the artworks in mind.

 

Food and Drinks

No food or drinks are allowed within the halls.

 

Ticketing and Registration

 

1.Ticketing
Tickets for Art Basel will only be available digitally, therefore box offices will no longer be located on-site. Tickets can be purchased online in advance starting mid-October via our website.

2. VIP and Partner Cards
Art Basel VIP cards are now fully digital and available through the Art Basel app. Art Basel’s partners aim to provide digital cards as well.

3. Contactless Checkpoints
Ticket and VIP card scanners that allow for contactless credential verification will be used at all entrances. Staff will be available to assist with any issues.

Aqua Art Miami will kick off its 16th edition at the Aqua Hotel (1530 Collins Avenue Miami Beach, FL 33139) with a VIP Preview on Wednesday, November 30th before opening to the public December 1-4, 2022. The energetic preview has become the destination for influential collectors and art professionals, many of whom migrate from Aqua’s sister fairs, Art Miami and CONTEXT conveniently nestled between the Venetian Causeway and the MacArthur Causeways, and Art Basel Miami Beach, which is located just a few blocks away.

The Art of Black Miami collaborative shines a spotlight on the arts, culture and diversity of Greater Miami & Miami Beach. Through an incredible array of curated programs, exhibitions, artist talks and intimate conversations, Miami’s African diaspora is celebrated by arts organizations, galleries and neighborhood spaces. Free activities and exhibits take place throughout Historic Overtown, Little Havana, Little River, Wynwood, Little Haiti and Miami Beach, as well as in virtual experiences happening in other surrounding communities. Miami Museum of Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora (Miami MoCAAD) Presents: Miami MoCAAD #Creative Conversation Celebrating Afro-Latinx Heritage

The presence of Afro-Latin art and art-making practices rarely takes center stage in mainstream art exhibits. Miami MoCAAD's spirited, creative conversation, which kicks off Miami Art Week, will explore drivers of Afro-Latin arts and culture that have often been in the shadows or the margins.

This community dialogue celebrates Afro-Latino diasporic culture and contributions to the arts landscape, and uncovers hidden histories of the Americas that influenced identities and creative expression.

MUCE Arts & Culture Festival

This festival is a four-day celebration of the African Diaspora art & cultural heritage happening during Miami Art Week at the MUCE Campus. Pigment International (Chicago) will be joining Golden Galleries (Colorado) for an exhibition at one of the leading contemporary art shows in the country, Spectrum Miami. Pigment International will highlight both Black masters and contemporary Black fine art including works by Richard Mayhew, Charly Palmer, Kerry James Marshall, Najee Dorsey, Dana Todd Pope, Kevin Nance-West, Heather Polk and Thomas E. Lockhart III. On December 4, they will host a meet-and-greet and conversation with artist, sculptor and poet Gerald Griffin. He will discuss the creation of his recent works, sculptures of former President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris. Griffin advocates for the pieces being turned into monuments that will contribute to telling a fuller, more inclusive history of America.

Soul Basel 2021 Open Air Art Village

The Soul Basel Open-Air Art Village is presented by the Black Archives History & Research Foundation of South Florida, Inc., in conjunction with If These Streets Could Talk: An Historic Exploration of Black Miami exhibit. The exhibit explores the origins of Miami, the development of Colored Town, its heyday and the stories of the people who lived here. The Soul Basel Open-Air Art Village will take place on the beautiful piano key plaza of the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater Cultural Arts Complex, where featured artists will showcase and sell their artwork.

Inspired by the idea of aṣẹ, the West African concept relating to our power to produce change, Aṣẹ: Afro Frequencies celebrates the historical, social and cultural aspects of the Black experience through the perspective of artists Vince Fraser and Ursula Rucker. Employing unique applications of audio-visual, interactive technologies and boundary-pushing techniques to broadcast the frequencies of Fraser’s core concepts out into the world, Aṣẹ: Afro Frequencies considers historical frameworks reimagined, brought to life in a new digital performance context. The immersive multi-sensory show is the latest in the ARTECHOUSE series of collaborations with leading digital and performance artists.
